Khuroson Residents Begin to Move into New Homes
BOKHTAR, 30.06.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The residential buildings for families affected by mudflows on May 14-16 in the village of Chorbog of Khuroson district will be completed by August 1.
Despite adverse weather conditions construction work has not stopped.
According to one of the residents Saidahmad Amirov, whose house was demolished, next Monday he and his family are going to move into a new house.
“We have completed the main construction work, amd doors and windows have been installed, so this week we will complete the finishing work and move into a new house,” he said.
According to another resident Sherali Rajabov, the construction of his house is also close to completion. All major construction work has already been completed and electrical wiring is currently underway.
At present, almost all houses in Khuroson are at the stage of completing the construction of walls and roofs, and finishing work is underway.
All houses have 4-5 rooms.
Currently, the district is planning and preparing for the start of construction of social facilities, such as a school for 300 people and a medical center. Unfortunately, they will not be able to build a school by the beginning of this school year, so the children will be distributed into schools in neighboring villages.
The mudslides occured between May 14 through May 16 in the villages of Nematullo Asadullo, 18th Party Congress, Khuroson and Pakhtaobod in the Khuroson district. As a result, 338 houses were affected, of which 14 were completely destroyed.
Earlier 33 truckloads of food, building materials and medical supplies were delivered to the affected individials, as well as doctors and patients in Khuroson.
In addition to approximately 80 tonnes of food, an assistance package included 3,700 sheets of slate, 180 tonnes of cement, 78 tonnes of reinforcement, and 750 square meters of construction timber.
