President Emomali Rahmon to Take Part in the 75th Anniversary of Victory Celebrations in Moscow
DUSHANBE, 02.06.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – President Emomali Rahmon will take part in the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which will be held on June 24 in Moscow.
Through diplomatic channels, Tajikistan has officially confirmed his participation in the upcoming celebrations organized for the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War this June 24 in Moscow, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Serbia have also confirmed their participation in the parade.
According to TASS, an American group of World War II veterans will also attend the celebrations in Moscow.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on April 16 that all public events scheduled for May 9 in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, including the customary parade on Red Square, would be postponed.
On May 26, at a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Putin announced that the Victory Parade would be held on June 24. Putin explained that he had chosen this date, since the legendary historical parade of winners took place on June 24, 1945, with the participation of fighters who fought near Moscow and defended Leningrad, and those who fought near Stalingrad, and liberated Europe after storming and freeing Berlin.
