Tajikistan and Switzerland Discuss Joint Fight Against COVID-19
DUSHANBE, 03.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin had a telephone conversation with the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Ignacio Cassis.
The ministers exchanged views on COVID-19 and the current state of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Switzerland.
Muhriddin noted the importance of the government’s efforts to limit the spread of COVID-19 and the assistance of development partners, in particular the Swiss government, in overcoming its consequences.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to the joint fight against COVID-19 and emphasized the need to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
Partnership and mutual support within the framework of international organizations and financial institutions also noted as important.
Further, the parties considered the realization process of the agreements reached during President Emomali Rahmon’s official visit to the Swiss Confederation on November 5-6 last year.
