Miroj Abdulloev Elected as a Presidential Candidate from the Communist Party

DUSHANBE, 05.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the 35th extraordinary congress of the Communist Party of Tajikistan was held in Dushanbe, where the party’s Chairman Miroj Abdulloev was elected as a presidential candidate.

The congress was attended by 57 deputies.

Abdulloev noted that the party’s election program was developed in accordance with the Constitution, based on the party’s program, analysis of the political, social and cultural situation of society, study of the period of Soviet statehood, achievements since independence, and the experience of developed states, especially those who have chosen the path of socialist development.

The main goal of the party’s program is to solve social problems in various spheres, including political, national relations, economics, social, spiritual, management reform, ensuring the rule of law, judicial reform, and foreign policy.

The Communist Party of Tajikistan was formed in 1924, during the period of the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic, the Secretary of the party’s Central Committee was practically considered the first leader of the country. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, from 1993 through 2016, the party was led by Shodi Shabdolov. In early July 2016, his First Deputy Ismoil Talbakov was elected the party’s chairman, who suddenly died on December 17, 2016 at the age of 61.

Party Secretary Mirzoazim Nasimov was temporarily appointed as the party’s chairman. From April 2017 to date, the party’s Chairman is a jurist, Deputy of the Representatives Assembly Abdulloyev.
