Tajik National Guard Celebrates 25th Anniversary

DUSHANBE, 03.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the National Guard, which is an important unit of Tajik Armed Forces, marks the 25th anniversary of the its formation.
As the army’s separate division, it is subordinate to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
The servicemen along with other power structures have contributed to the restoration of the constitutional order, maintenance of peace and stability of the population. Its 283 officers and soldiers were awarded the highest state awards.
Established during independence, the National Guard today performs important tasks: it protects borders, the president, high-ranking military officials, and ensures the security of the state, monitors the implementation of laws and the preservation of the country’s achievements.
The personnel, in addition to field exercises, various military events annually actively participate in collaboration with other domestic and foreign military structures in tactical exercises, joint exercises, in the fight against international terrorism and extremism, hone their combat skills and abilities.
Over the years, the material and technical support of the personnel has changed dramatically. Servicemen are provided with housing and personal plots for housing construction. The issue of improving the social status of servicemen is under government’s constant control.
To date, more than 475 servicemen have been provided with service apartments, and land plots have been allocated for 65 people for housing construction.
As part of preparation for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence and the National Guard’s 25th anniversary, it is planned to construct a residential building for 24 apartments and 10 three-room cottages near the military unit, of which six three-room houses have been built.
Today, all military units have created favorable conditions of service, a good training basis, which contributes to the improvement of the qualifications and professional skills of military personnel.
Today, 403 guard servicemen are trained in the country’s military institutes, 219 in military institutes and academies abroad, 90 people in higher educational institutions under the presidential quotas.
Every year, the Guard’s Center for Personnel Training and Military Education graduates hundreds of junior technical specialists, signalmen, sergeants, warrant officers and young officers who are sent to continue their service in the units. The National Training Center for Combating Terrorism and Drug is functioning in order to prevent and combat the century’s negative phenomena.
