National Assembly and Russian Federation Council Hold Cooperation Commission Meeting

DUSHANBE, 25.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, a meeting of the Commission on Cooperation between Tajikistan’s National Assembly and Russian Federation Council was held in Moscow.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali praised the current state and prospects of Tajik-Russian relations, including inter-parliamentary ties and described the role of parliamentary diplomacy as one of the key elements in the comprehensive deepening of bilateral cooperation.
Through mutual efforts, bilateral cooperation in all sectors and, above all, in the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and security spheres has reached a qualitatively level.
It is necessary to emphasize the important role of the effective work of the commission between the National Assembly and the Federation Council.
Rustam Emomali noted that the cooperation between the National Assembly and the Federation Council has great potential for further development.
“Their implementation is the main task of the Joint Commission, which addresses the following issues, including strengthening trade, economic, scientific and technical ties, strengthening cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries, activization of national legislation in foreign trade, customs, tax and banking activities, product and services standardization, improving relations in the field of labor migration, further strengthening cooperation in education, science and other areas,” said the Speaker of the National Assembly.
The parties praised the prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, which has rich potential and is one of the important factors in maintaining and strengthening security and peace in the region.
Following the commission’s meeting, Rustam Emomali visited the hall of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly.
