Security Council Secretary Takes Part in the Meeting of CIS Security Council Secretaries

DUSHANBE, 19.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Secretary of the Security Council Nasrullo Mahmudzoda took part in the eighth meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which was held yesterday via video conference.
The meeting participants discussed the issues of ensuring security in the area of CIS responsibility, the course of cooperation and interaction between the member states in the fight against biological threats in the organization’s territory, the experience of combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the timely readiness of the healthcare sector and industry for the fight against new threats to biological security, the situation in Afghanistan, its impact on the security of the Central Asian states, and other key security issues.
The parties also exchanged views on interstate cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.
It was noted that the government of Tajikistan is taking the necessary measures to prevent the consequences of the pandemic and thus pays constant attention to strengthening cooperation with the CIS countries and other regional and international organizations.
Following the meeting, a number of important documents were adopted.
