President Emomali Rahmon Attends Presentations of Intercity Buses Manufactures by Akia Avesto Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 11.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in the inauguration ceremony of Kokhi Vahdat State Institution following its renovation.
During the inspection tour, he also inspected the new residential buildings for State Committee for National Security employees and was familiarized with the 36 AKIA Ultra LE8 inter-city buses manufactured by Akia Avesto Automotive Industry of Tajikistan and 69 trolleybuses manufactured by Belarusian mechanical engineering company Belkommunmash. The buses and trolleybuses are expected to be released into the circulation soon.
President Rahmon was accompanied by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali.
The newly renovated Kokhi Vahdat with a capacity to hold 1,000 and nine conference rooms with a capacity of 50 to 200 seats is now suited to hold international events of any format with delegated spacing for media representatives.
Following the inspection, President Rahmon met with city officials and that of law enforcement agencies. The meeting focused on the upcoming celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence, as well as energy use efficiency, adherence to anti-COVID-19 measures, and landscaping of public spaces.
While at the site of the two new high-rise residential buildings with 124 apartments, President Rahmon handed over keys to new apartments to the officers of the State Committee for National Security and laid a foundation stone for the construction of another high-rise residential building.
The familiarization with the new buses followed the list.
From the beginning of 2020, Akia Avesto Automatic Industry has launched the serial production of Akia buses under the Tajik name Akia Oriyo. The plan is to produce 50 buses by the end of this year.
The produced and assembled buses are equipped with Mercedes-Benz and ZF Friedrichshafen AG engines. All spare parts are purchased with a special guarantee from renowned German and Turkish companies.
Established in 2018 as a Tajik – Turkish joint company, it manufactures modern Akia buses and contributes to the country’s rapid industrialization.
This plant has an annual production capacity of 300 vehicles. There are approximately 100 local specialists working to produce five different types of buses in stages.
