President Emomali Rahmon Expresses Condolences to Macron Over the Death of Former French President

DUSHANBE, 03.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed his condolences to the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron over the death of former French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing.
The message reads in part:
“Excellency,
We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the death of former French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing.
Giscard d’Estaing was an outstanding statesman who defined the nature and content of an important era in the development of France and his name went down as a politician who made a worthy contribution to deepening the process of European integration and architected European Union’s foundations.
His tireless efforts to promote international peace and stability have gained him universal recognition and respect in the international arena.
Please convey the words of our sincere sympathy to the family and relatives of the deceased and to all friendly citizens of France.”
Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, the third president of the Fifth Republic, passed away on Wednesday 2 December at the age of 94.
