President Emomali Rahmon and Speaker of National Assembly Plants Trees in Istiqlol Square

DUSHANBE, 16.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On February 16, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon and Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali got acquainted with the pace of construction of Istiqlol Square.
The officials planted California sequoias, which were first imported 20 years ago and planted in the garden of the Palace of the Nation. Nearly 40 unique California sequoias, which live 3,000 years, were planted on both sides of Istiqlol Square. To date, 1,045 saplings of beautiful and unique ornamental trees have been planted throughout the park.
In the near future, the territory of the square will be planted with unique evergreen and ornamental trees from European countries. Its total area will expand to 30 hectares.
Following the planting, President Rahmon and Rustam Emomali inspected the project designs of the Istiqlol Square.
