DUSHANBE, 15.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – “The resumption of regular flights with the Russian Federation is our priority. About 70% of the total passenger traffic is with Russia, these are labor migrants, their families and students,” said the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency Ikrom Subhonzoda.
According to him, Tajikistan has long made the decision to resume regular flights to Russia. However, the resumption of regular flights now depends only on the Russian side.
“Currently we are awaiting the decision of our colleagues from Russia, everything depends on them. They have been provided with all the necessary information about the coronavirus situation in our country. According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, the mortality and morbidity from COVID-19 in Tajikistan is zero. The epidemic situation in our country is under control,” Subhonzoda emphasized.
He also explained that the issue of resuming flights has been repeatedly discussed with the Russian side in various formats.
Earlier, Russia opened regular flights with Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and more recently it was decided to resume flights with Azerbaijan and Armenia.
