DUSHANBE, 17.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Football Federation of Tajikistan (FFT) has sent an application to the Asian Football Confederation to host in Dushanbe and Hissor matches of the group stage of the 2021 AFC Champions League and the 2021 AFC Cup with the participation of the clubs of Tajikistan.

The FFT has applied to host the 2021 AFC Champions League group stage in Group A. In this group, Istiklol will play against Al-Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Shabab Al-Ahli (UAE), as well as with the winner of a pair of playoffs Al-Garafa (Qatar) — AGMK (Uzbekistan). The 2021 AFC Champions League will be held in a centralized format from April 15 through April 30.

An application was also sent to the AFC for holding matches of the group stage of the 2021 AFC Cup in the groups E and F in Dushanbe and Hissor, where Ravshan and Khujand will play.

Ravshan will play in Group E against Dordoi (Kyrgyzstan) and Ahal (Turkmenistan). Khujand will play in Group F together with the AGMK or Nasaf (Uzbekistan), Altyn Asyr (Turkmenistan) and Alay (Kyrgyzstan).

The 2021 AFC Cup group stage will be held in a centralized format in one round from May 14 through May 20. The group winners will play in the zone final, which will consist of two matches and will take place on August 11 and August 25.

The AFC will announce the location of the group stages later.
