Dushanbe Hosts the Third International Festival Navruz — Cultural and Tourist Heritage

DUSHANBE, 22.03.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The third International Festival Navruz — Cultural and Tourist Heritage was held on March 21 in Dushanbe. The festival was initiated by Dushanbe administration in collaboration with the Committee for Tourism Development as well as the relevant ministries and committees
The festival was attended by a representative of the Presidential Executive Office, heads of ministries and departments, guests from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), representatives of the diplomatic corps, and the media.
The national crafts, Navruz traditions, national sports games, cooking Navruz dishes, national clothes and tourist opportunities were presented at the festival.
The festival was held for the third year with the support of the government in honor of the celebration of International Navruz holiday and as part of the announcement of 2019-2021 as the Years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts. The festival was aimed to present tourism opportunities and national culture of Tajiks to tourists.
This year the festival took place as part of the implementation of the Interstate Program Cultural Capitals of the Commonwealth and was held on the day of the official opening ceremony Dushanbe — Cultural Capital of the Commonwealth – 2021.
The festival participants were presented with a cultural program of art masters of the country and CIS member states.
The Navruz holiday with its unique features is considered one of the most important examples of tourism in Tajikistan, attracting the attention of the world community to the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Tajik people.
