DUSHANBE, 15.03.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The symbol of Navruz has been approved in agreement with the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The first symbol similar to an evergreen conifer consists of seven levels decorated with national patterns. Various embroideries and objects are depicted around them respresenting rebirth of nature.
In the future, the national Navruz dish sumanak and the Navruz flower will be used as a statewide symbol for the holiday.
Sumanak also expresses the origin of agriculture among Aryan tribes and the farmer’s love for wheat, from which bread is made — the main food product of man. The fact that sumanak is made in a round bowl represents the rotation of the Earth in the Universe, the eternal connection between man and nature.
After Navruz was declared an international holiday, the United Nations and UNESCO chose sumanak as a symbol of Navruz.
The second symbol has a rounded shape, and in the middle of it there is a globe, and on both sides there is a national flag and messengers of the approach of spring — a swallow, patterns as a symbol of folk crafts and a rainbow with the inscription Navruz-2021 in Tajik.
The symbols will be posted throughout the country from March 19 through March 25.
