FM Muhriddin Receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden — the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office

DUSHANBE, 15.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, the Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Ann Linde, who is on her working visit to Dushanbe.
The meeting focused on a wide range of issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Sweden, as well as interactions within the OSCE.
The parties also discussed the situation in the region and Afghanistan.
They underscored the importance of countering modern challenges, such as the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, climate change, the fight against terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking and cybercrime.
Muhriddin noted that Tajikistan considers the OSCE an important platform for constructive dialogue and is interested in expanding relations with the organization in all three dimensions, — the military-political, the economic-environmental, and the human.
As part of bilateral relations, the parties expressed their readiness to intensify cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, education, security, tourism, and climate change.
