DUSHANBE, 03.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Days of Tajik Culture will be held in Belarus in August on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Belarusian-Tajik diplomatic relations. The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Belarus Mahmadsharif Hakdod noted that the event will include Tajik art, and a number of other events will also be organized on the occasion of the anniversary.
“September 5 marks the 25th year of Belarus and Tajik diplomatic relations. We plan to organize an international scientific conference at which the results of bilateral relations for this period will be summed up,” he said.
Also, Hakdod drew attention to the fact that the friendship between the two states has a long history dating to Soviet times.
“The period of the joint struggle for independence during the Great Patriotic War was heroic. Many Tajiks were put to rest on the Belarusian soil. The historical friendship between the two peoples is also reinforced by the friendship between the leaders of the two countries,” said Hakdod.
As education is one of the priorities for the development of Tajikistan, the state intends to increase the number of students studying in Belarus. The annual population growth in our country has reached 2%, so the need for educational services will increase.
Hakdod noted that the trade turnover between Belarus and Tajikistan has increased in 2020. “In 2018, we opened the Agrotechservice JV for the assembly of Belarusian agricultural machinery, which is shipped to Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan,” he said.
Both countries maintain close cooperation and act from similar positions on the effectiveness of organizations such as the UN, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
