New Project Aimed at Improving the Quality of Hospital Care Launched in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 19.05.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – A new project has been launched in Tajikistan to improve the quality of hospital care to reduce maternal, newborn and child mortality, as well as accelerate Tajikistan’s achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in health.
The launching ceremony took place yesterday in Dushanbe. The project will be implemented from 2021 through 2023.
As part of this initiative, specialists from the Russian WHO collaborating centers, including V. Kulakov National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology and the National Medical Research Center for Children’s Health will monitor pilot hospitals in Tajikistan.
There will also be a series of trainings for doctors and nurses on emergency medical care for mothers, newborns and children.
Also hospitals will be provided with the necessary equipment to improve the quality of medical services.
Russia has allocated about $ 900,000 for the project’s implementation.
