NOC Vice-President Provides Olympiad Participants and Sports Federations with 935,000 Somoni in Cash Benefits and Grants

DUSHANBE, 12.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 10, at the 20th session of the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) and before the start of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Vice-President of the NOC Shamsullo Sohibov provided the Olympic delegation with cash benefits, and 17 sports federations with grants in the amount of 935,000. Sohibov came up with an initiative to allocate a grant of 1,000,000 Somoni for the development of 20 sports federations.
A working commission has been created to settle the issue of a grant for which 17 federations submitted draft applications. Each allocated grant is 50,000 somoni.
Sohibov also handed over 10,000 somoni and 5,000 somoni each to the athletes who received vouchers to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
The Olympic delegation will consist of 11 people, including Bahodur Usmonov, Shabbos Negmatulloev, Siyovush Zuhurov (boxing), Gulsumbi Sharipova, Ildar Ahmadiev (light athletics), Somon Mahmadbekov, Akmal Murodov, Komronshoh Ustopiriyon, Temur Rahimov (Judo), Anastasia Tyurina, Olimjon Ishanov (swimming).
