DUSHANBE, 23.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik athletes who won medals in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be presented with apartments in Dushanbe on behalf of the Chairman of the National Assembly, the Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali.

Gold medal winners will be presented with four-room apartments, recipients of the silver medal will receive three-room apartments, and those with bronze medals will get two-room apartments.

Also, in accordance with the regulation on the Prize of the President of Tajikistan, athletes of sports competitions in first, second, third places will be awarded 300,000, 250,000 and 200,000 somoni from the Leader of the Nation Fund, respectively.

The Tajik Olympic delegation consisting of 10 athletes. They arrived in Tokyo on the evening of July 20. The delegation was met by representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan and settled in the Olympic Village.

On July 21, the national flag of Tajikistan was flown in the Olympic Village, and athletes and coaches were tested for COVID-19, the result of which turned out to be negative.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will begin today and run until August 8. Tajikistan will be represented by 10 athletes, icluding judokas Somon Mahmadbekov (+73 kg), Akmal Murodov (+81 kg), Komronshoh Ustopiriyon (+90 kg), Temur Rahimov (+100 kg), boxers Bahodur Usmonov (+63 kg), Shabbos Negmatulloyev (+81 kg), Siyovush Zuhurov (+91 kg), athlete Ildar Akhmadiev (100 m run), swimmers Olimjon Eshonov (freestyle, 50 m) and Anastasia Tyurina (freestyle, 50 m).

The opening ceremony will take place today evening at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
