DUSHANBE, 13.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.
During the meeting the officials had an in-depth discussion on the bilateral agenda within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership and within regional and international organizations.
«Tajikistan and China are comprehensive strategic partners and close neighbors, and we are interested in further deepening the close and reliable relationship between our countries in all forms,» said President Rahmon, who expressed gratitude for the 300,000 doses of the Coronavirus vaccine which was provided to Tajikistan.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between the two countries and discussed prospects for further developing trade, transport, investment, export of Tajik goods, especially agricultural products to China.
They also looked in detail at the prospects of bilateral cooperation within international organizations such as the UN, SCO, CIS, and CICA, and the joint fight against terrorism, extremism, separatism, transnational organized crime, illicit drug trafficking, cybercrime, and other security threats.
The conversation also touched upon the latest developments in Afghanistan.
