Tajik Judoka Mahmadbekov Completes Olympic Games

DUSHANBE, 26.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, Tajik judoka Somon Makhmadbekov took part in the judo competitions +73 kg at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Mahmadbekov in the first round defeated Ahmad Alikaj from the refugee team, and in the second round — over the athlete from Gambia Faye Njiye and made his way to the 1/8 finals, but lost to the athlete from Azerbaijan Rustam Orujov.
Thus, the Olympic Games ended for Mahmadbekov.
Another Tajik judoka Akmal Murodov will continue the competition tomorrow. He will compete in the weight category +81 kg. His opponent in the first round is Joshter Andrew from Guam. The competition starts at 07:00 Dushanbe time.
Then, on July 28, judoka Komronshoh Ustopiriyon will perform in the weight +90 kg and on July 31, Temur Rakhimov in the weight category +100 kg.
