Issues of Possible Influx of Afghan Refugees Discussed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 18.08.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The situation on the Tajik-Afghan border and issues of a possible influx of Afghan refugees to Tajikistan were discussed yesterday by the Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Rustam Nazarzoda and the head of the Mission of the International Committee of Red Cross Angelica Shop.
The meeting also focused on issues of implementation of joint projects, response to disasters, interaction in informing and alerting the population about dangers and threats, as well as training of rescue specialists, and provision of technical assistance.
Nazarzoda provided Shop with information about natural disasters that occurred in the country, the work done to eliminate their consequences, assistance provided by the government and cooperation with international partners.
