Tajik Delegation Attends CICA Ministerial Meeting in Nur-Sultan

DUSHANBE, 12.10.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Farhod Salim attended the sixth meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the member-states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Kazakhstan’s Nur-Sultan.
In his statement, Salim spoke about important regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan, and informed the participants on Tajikistan’s environmental initiatives.
He also called on member states to support the initiative President Emomali Rahmon to declare 2025 the Year of Glacier Preservation.
Today, also on the margins of the CICA ministerial meeting, Salim participated in a joint meeting of the heads of delegations of the CICA member-states and other international and regional organizations with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The heads of the delegation expressed their gratitude to the Kazakh side for holding the CICA ministerial meeting and exchanged views on ways and means of strengthening cooperation and confidence-building measures in the region.
