Kazakhstan Plans to Donate Military Equipment to Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 10.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Deputies of the Assembly of the Parliament of Kazakhstan approved the draft law “On Ratification of the Agreement Between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on the Provision of Gratuitous Military-Technical Assistance,” reports Kazinform INA.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Ruslan Shpekbayev, the agreement between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan on the provision of military-technical assistance was made in Nur-Sultan on April 17, 2021.
The adoption of the agreement is conditioned by the need to strengthen security in the Central Asian region, and is aimed at assisting the development of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan.
According to the conclusion of the Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security, under the agreement, Kazakhstan is to provide Tajikistan with free military-technical assistance in the form of the transfer of military property.
According to Article 3 of the agreement, the Kazakh side is to ensure the delivery of military equipment by rail from the Otar station of the Zhambyl region to Tajikistan’s Rohati station in Dushanbe.
