Tajik U-15 Team Wins Silver Medals at the 2021 CAFA Championship
DUSHANBE, 24.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Tajik U-15 football team won the silver medal at the Championship of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) in Dushanbe.
In the final round, Tajikistan beat Uzbekistan with a score of 1-0. In another match, Iran defeated Kyrgyzstan with the score of 8-0.
Iran and Tajikistan both scored 7 points. However, due to the best goal difference, Iran became the winner of the 2021 CAFA Championship, while Tajikistan won the silver medal and Uzbekistan received the bronze.
The CAFA General Secretary Ulugbek Karimov, Vice-Presidents of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Dilshod Jurazoda and Alisher Urunov took part in the closing ceremony.
The Fair Play prize was awarded to Kyrgyzstan, while a special prize went to Tajikistan. The best scorer became the captain of Tajikistan Abubakr Sulaimonov, who scored 3 goals. The Most Useful Player prize was received by Iranian Ismail Golizade Samian.
The CAFA is a division of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) that controls football in Central Asia.
It was founded on June 10, 2014, and officially launched on January 9, 2015. It unites the football federations of Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
