Dushanbe Will Host 2022 Asian Cycling Championship

DUSHANBE, 01.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Dushanbe will host the 2022 Asian Cycling Championship, reports the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.
On November 27, a high-ranking delegation of the Asian Cycling Confederation headed by its President Osama Ahmad Abdullah Al Shafar arrived in Tajikistan on a working visit to determine the venue and conditions for the first Asian Cycling Championship.
The issue of holding the 2022 Asian Cycling Championship in Dushanbe was agreed upon at a meeting between the Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali and the President of the Asian Cycling Confederation Osama Ahmad Abdullah Al Shafar earlier this June.
In order to hold the 2022 Asian Cycling Championship from March 25 through March 28, an agreement was signed between the Asian Cycling Confederation and the Cycling Federation of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.
Races will be held at distances from 150 through 240 kilometers, and for athletes with disabilities the distance will be 22 kilometers. The venue will be announced after the conclusion of the technical commission.
Al Shafar and his delegation also visited the National Olympic Committee and the Museum of Olympic Glory as part of their visit.
