DUSHANBE, 05.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik teachers have the opportunity to practice at US secondary schools located near the host university in order to work closely with American teachers, teaching and introducing their country to US schoolchildren and students. To do this, they can participate in a competition under the Fulbright program to improve teaching skills for the period 2022-2023, reported the US Embassy in Tajikistan.
The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (FTEA) Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by IREX.
FTEA provides international secondary-level teachers with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the US.
FTEA consists of a six-week non-degree, non-credit customized academic program, which includes seminars on new teaching methodologies, student-centered learning, content-based instruction, lesson planning, and instructional technology.
Participants will also take part in a practicum in a US secondary school near their host university to work closely with US teachers and teach and present to US students. Cultural enrichment, mentoring, and support will be provided throughout the program.
The international participants will travel to the US in two cohorts of approximately 80 teachers each in January or September of 2023.
Fulbright Teachers support people-to-people diplomacy throughout their time in the United States, in U.S. host classrooms and communities.
The deadline for submitting documents is February 28, 2022. The application is available on the website: https://fulbright.irex.org.
