Tajik Athletes Will Take Part in 2022 Tel Aviv Grand Slam

DUSHANBE, 17.02.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – From February 17 through February 19, four Tajik athletes will take part in the 2022 Tel Aviv Grand Slam 2022, reports the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.
Tajikistan will be represented by Somon Mahmadbekov (-73 kg), Shodmon Rizoev (-81 kg), Jahongir Majidov (-90 kg), and Temur Rahimov (+100 kg).
According to the program of the tournament, Mahmadbekov and Rizoev will compete on February 18, and Majidov and Rahimov on February 19.
According to the International Judo Federation, 309 athletes, including 170 men, and 139 women from 34 countries will take part in the tournament.
Traditionally, athletes who win medals also receive prizes. The first place will get €3,000, second place — €2,000 and the third place €1,500.
This will be the third high-level judo competition this year. The Grand Prix of Portugal and the Grand Slam of Paris were held earlier. Komronshokh Ustopiriyon won the bronze medal in Portugal.
