DUSHANBE, 17.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and the United States, the book Republic of Tajikistan — USA: Thirty Years of Strong Partnership was published in Dushanbe.

The author of the book is Abdukayum Mamadazimov. It was printed by the publishing house Nashriyoti Muosir with the support of the US Embassy in Tajikistan.

It is devoted to the study and analysis of the formation and development of interstate relations between Tajikistan and the US in the recent period.

The author, with reference to a wide range of historical documents and archival materials, provides detailed information about key events and joint activities, meetings and negotiations of high-ranking representatives of the parties to strengthen relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

The book summarizes the processes of transformation, expansion of cooperation and close relations between Tajikistan and the US for over 30 years of bilateral relations in the field of politics, economics, security, military-technical cooperation, humanitarian assistance, culture, education, science, and other areas.

In his opening remarks, the US Ambassador to Tajikistan John Mark Pommersheim writes that studying this book will expand the knowledge of the history of the two countries.

“During my tenure as Ambassador, relations between the two countries expanded on a new basis, and the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic were resolved,” he says.

Pommersheim proudly notes that, along with the staff of the US Embassy, ​​he played an important role in building bridges between the two countries and building a brighter future for Tajikistan.

“We work closely with the Government of Tajikistan on all our projects. Our progress is always a joint success. We constantly strive to move forward together. Our motto for the 30th anniversary of US-Tajik relations is ‘Together Forward!’ We will continue these relations in the spirit of cooperation, assistance and friendship. Long live the friendship between between the American and Tajik people!” he writes.

The book covers the period from the beginning of the independence of Tajikistan in 1991 to the end of 2021, that is, the period of thirty years of cooperation between the two countries.
