King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre and RCST to Provide Monthly Material Assistance to 600 Orphans

DUSHANBE, 30.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan will provide monthly material assistance to 600 orphans in the cities and districts of Khatlon region and Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region for 12 months with the assistance of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre of Saudi Arabia.
In this regard, today at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Dushanbe the RCST and the Center signed an agreement on the launch of the project Support of Orphans in Tajikistan for 2022.
Individuals will receive the somoni equivalent of $100 each month, which will be transferred to their bank card.
The project aims to support 500 orphans from the cities and districts of Kulob, Vose, Norak, Khuroson, Bokhtar, Kushoniyon, Vakhsh, Levakant, Yovon, Abdurahmon Jomi, Jaloliddin Balkhi, Jayhun, Dusti, Kubodiyon, Shakhritus, Pyanj of Khatlon region, and 100 children — orphans from Khorug and Shugnon of GBAO.
By agreement and upon submission of lists by local administrations of the above cities and districts, 600 orphans have been registered and their documents have fully registered in the RCST database.
The agreement was signed between the RCST and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre on the project Support of Orphans in Tajikistan for the first time on February 4, 2020.
Along with this, the RCST is currently implementing two projects to help orphans with the assistance of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre and the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates, supporting a total of 1414 orphans in cities and regions of Tajikistan.
