Sughd Region Exports Products Worth $257 Million

DUSHANBE, 13.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The volume of foreign trade turnover of the Sughd region in January-March of this year amounted to $720.5 million, the growth rate compared to the same period in 2021 was provided by 150.4%.
Imports amounted to $463.5 million, which is $118.4 million or 34.3% more than in the same period last year. Export of goods from the region for this period amounted to $257 million, which is $122.4 million, or 90.9% more than in the same period last year.
Also, the export of minerals and concentrates increased by $83.6 million compared to the same period last year, and a total of 93.5 tons of minerals and concentrates worth $159.5 million were exported. The share of minerals and concentrates in the total export amounted to 62.0%. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of cement exports in its original form increased by 35,121 tons, and a total of 168,870 tons of cement was exported in the amount of $4.9 million.
As a result of the targeted implementation of the accelerated industrialization of the country, the production indicators of the textile industry improved, which indicates an increase in the volume of exports of cotton yarn and clothing.
For 3 months of this year, 351 tons of clothes worth $5.8 million were exported to the foreign market, an increase compared to the same period of the previous year amounted to $1 million and 84 tons respectively.
Additionally, 13,492 tons of cotton fiber were exported in the amount of $35.4 million, which is 2,174 tons or $17.2 million more than in the same period last year.
The share of dried fruits in the structure of agricultural exports amounted to 79.8%, during this period 11,387 tons of dried fruits were exported in the amount of $6.4 million. The growth of exports of dried fruits amounted to 5,788 tons in the amount of $4.1 million.
