Tajikistan Informs International Organizations About the Second Dushanbe Conference and the UN Water Conference-2023

DUSHANBE, 11.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On April 7, the information session of Tajikistan and the Netherlands on the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028» titled “Catalyzing water action and partnership at the local, national, regional and global levels” (Dushanbe, June 6-9, 2022) and the UN Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the Objectives of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018–2028 (New York, March 22-24, 2023) was held in Geneva with the participation of heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations.
Initiated by the Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva and the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands to the UN, the session was organized with the support of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), United Nations Economic and Social Department (UNDESA), and the UN-Water.
Permanent Representative of Tajikistan Jamshed Homidov and head of the Secretariat of the Conference Sulton Rahimzoda delivered speeches at the event.
Homidov stressed the need for cooperation in promoting water issues in the World Development Agenda and provided information on the Second Dushanbe Water Conference to raise awareness about the important global preparatory event for the UN Water Conference-2023.
