Tajik Athletes Win Six Medals at the First World Belt Wrestling Championship in Uzbekistan

DUSHANBE, 31.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik wrestlers took part in the first world belt wrestling championship among boys and girls born in 2005-2006 in the Uzbek city of Kokand and won six medals.
Gold was won by heavyweight Zafarjon Musoev in the +95 kg category. Silver medals were awarded to Doston Ahmadbekzoda (45 kg), Bakhtiyor Khudoiberdiev (60 kg) and Askar Ergashev (95 kg). Bronze was won by Bahromdjon Imomzoda (77 kg) and Temur-Malik Musoev (85 kg).
More than 200 athletes from 20 countries, including Russia, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Israel, Georgia, India, Moldova, Romania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan competed for prizes.
According to the rules of the championships, boys competed in the weight categories -42, -45, -50, -55, -60, -65, -71, -77, -85, -95, +95 kg, and the girls — in weight categories -44, -48, -52, -57, -63, -70, +70 kg.
