DUSHANBE, 17.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On May 16, at 18:30, the head of an organized criminal group in Khorug Mamadbokir Mamadbokirov led by Ulfatkhonim Mamadshoeva, and wanted Alim Sherzamonov organized an illegal rally in Khorugi Bolo settlement in order to violate public safety, obstruct the activities of state bodies, intimidate the population, and influence government authorities to make decisions in favor of criminals.

At 20:40, per instructions of Mamadbokirov, a group of ignorant youths led by 29-year-old resident of Shohtemur settlement Zamir Nazrishoev committed an armed attack on employees of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for GBAO, who were performing their official duties in the building of the regional court, and detonated a hand grenade.

As a result of this illegal action by the above-named persons, the First Deputy Head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for GBAO Gayratsho Muborakshozoda, an employee of the operational department of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for GBAO Shuhrat Kamishev and the Special Forces Platoon Commander of the Military Unit 3503 of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Abubakr Fayzullozoda were injured and consequently hospitalized.

During the repulse of the armed attack Nazrishoev was wounded and died at the hospital.
Special anti-riot means were used during the operation.

Operational and investigative measures are ongoing to identify other members of the organized criminal group involved in the armed attack.

The GBAO Prosecutor’s Office initiated a criminal case against the organizers of the incident.
