Participants of the Second Dushanbe Water Conference Will Visit Hydropower and Historical-Cultural Sites of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 07.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Guests and participants of the Second International High-Level Conference dedicated to the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028,» which began on June 6 and will last through June 9 in Dushanbe, will visit the largest hydropower facilities in Tajikistan such as the Rogun and Norak HPPs, historical and cultural sites in Dushanbe, Hissor, Varzob, and will get acquainted with the rich potential of water and energy resources.
The conference is being attended by more than 2,000 high-ranking officials, politicians, scientists, experts, representatives of the country’s government, the United Nations and its agencies, international and regional organizations, financial institutions, academic institutions, civil society, including women and youth.
President Emomali Rahmon took part and spoke at the opening ceremony of the conference.
