President Rahmon Announces Allocated Amount for Rogun HPP

DUSHANBE, 13.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, in his speech at a meeting with the builders of the Rogun hydroelectric power plant (HPP), President Emomali Rahmon noted that more than 31 billion somoni has been allocated from the state budget and other sources for the reconstruction, construction and installation of the Rogun HPP in 2008-2021.
According to him, 2.6 billion somoni will be allocated in later this year from the state budget to continue the construction of the power plant, and the government is taking the necessary measures to attract additional funds.
He stressed that yesterday he got acquainted with the progress of work and noticed significant progress at the pre-contractual facilities and the facilities of 1-4 lots.
“Particular attention is required to work, first of all, on main water intakes, access roads leading to them, strengthening mountain slopes, exit from the construction tunnel of the 3rd and 4th layers, water supply and cementing tunnels, transport tunnels connecting the main water intakes with platinum, ventilation shaft and other facilities,” he added.
According to the information provided, 10,517 workers and engineering staff are currently working on the construction, including 332 foreign specialists.
Over 3,200 machines and mechanisms are being used in construction works.
Since the beginning of this year, 1.2 billion somoni has been allocated to pay for construction, installation, design, survey work, purchase of equipment, goods, and building material, and other services.
