Representative of Tajikistan Attends ETUCE Special Conference
DUSHANBE, 06.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The National Education Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 is the basis of an effective education system that provides comprehensive and equal opportunities for the development of abilities, intellectual development, employment and welfare of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was stated by the Head of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Tajikistan Zulhiya Nozakzoda during the Special Conference of the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE), which was held in Liege, Kingdom of Belgium.
Nozakzoda also noted that the Long-Term Education Strategy reflects the benefits of socio-economic development of Tajikistan in the National Development Strategy of the country for the period up to 2030.
She noted that the goal of reforms in the education system is to create a high-quality and affordable education system for all citizens throughout life to provide the country’s economy with competent personnel based on modern and innovative infrastructure and technologies.
Also during the conference, Nozakzoda presented the Kounka Damianova Award in 2022 to Borka Visnic, a representative of the Education Trade Union of Serbia. Nozakzoda was awarded the Kounka Damianova Award in 2018.
ETUCE Special Conference is held every two years and adopts resolutions and relevant decisions on trade union and education issues. The conference is attended by representatives of the European Trade Union Committee for Education and representatives of member organizations of the Committee, who discuss issues of raising the status of teachers in society, protecting the social support of teachers, the quality of education, social partnership, and access to education.
