Delegation of Khatlon Region Leaves for Turkiye

DUSHANBE, 12.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the governmental and trade delegation of Khatlon region headed by the Chairman of the region Kurbon Hakimzoda left for Turkiye.
The purpose of the visit is to establish mutually beneficial cooperation, expand trade and economic ties with the regions and cities of Gaziantep, Kahramanmarash, Bursa, and Istanbul.
The visit if the delegation consisting of more than 60 people will last until September 18.
The delegation will visit industrial enterprises involved in textile, carpet weaving, footwear, furniture, and food production, processing of various raw materials, and study Turkey’s experience in organizing industrial zones.
As part of the visit, meetings are planned with the leadership of the above regions, as well as working meetings with entrepreneurs, the organization of the Interregional Business Forum of Khatlon region of Tajikistan and the regions of Turkiye with the aim of holding B2B meetings to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.
In 2021, foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan with Turkiye reached $390.5 million. In general, more than $221 million (2% of total foreign investment imports) of Turkiye capital was attracted in 2007-2021, including $124 million (2.2% of total foreign direct investment imports) of direct investment.
According to these indicators, Turkiye ranks 14th and 9th respectively among foreign countries.
