DUSHANBE, 27.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, President Emomali Rahmon proposed changing the name of the Institute of Languages to the International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda.
“Considering the existing conditions and in order to further develop and expand the scientific and educational activities of the institution in the direction of training high-level specialists who speak several foreign languages, I propose to change the name of the institute to the International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda,” he said.
The Ministry of Education and Science, including other ministries and departments have been instructed to prepare and submit to the government the necessary legal documents on this issue within three months.
“We must provide all the necessary conditions for the study of languages for teenagers and young people at all levels of education, and arrange things in such a way that the number of our citizens traveling to foreign countries to study languages is reduced as much as possible. For this purpose, it is necessary to use all facilities, including libraries, which are a very favorable base for teaching and learning languages,” he added.
He emphasized that in order to solve this problem, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Tajik State Institute of Languages and the language faculties of all institutions of higher professional education should develop and implement language programs.
On October 5, 2009, the government enacted the law “On the State Language of Tajikistan,» and this date was officially declared the Day of the State Language and included in the list of state and national holidays.
