Tajik Athlete Saidov Wins Gold Medal at the World Boxing Cup

DUSHANBE, 12.12.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On December 10, Tajik athlete Shamsher Saidov won the gold medal at the World Boxing Cup among oil-producing countries.
He defeated Russian Ruslan Pidgirnyak in the final battle in the 67 kg category.
Another Tajik athletes Shahboz Haitov won silver medal in the weight of 86 kg and Nekruz Salimov won a bronze medal in the weight of 80 kg.
Among women Mijgona Samadova won a gold medal in the weight of 57 kg, Shoira Zulkainarova in the weight of 60 kg and Mehrinoz Muzaffarova in the weight of 81 kg won bronze medals.
The tournament with the participation of athletes from Azerbaijan, Egypt, Congo, Georgia, Belarus, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took place from December 5 through December 10 in Russian Beloyarsk.
Competitions were held in 11 weight categories among men and 6 — among women.
Thus, the boxing team of Tajikistan won 6 medals, including 2 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze.
