Address by President Emomali Rahmon Is In the Focus of Attention of Foreign Media

DUSHANBE, 03.01.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Foreign media in their materials drew attention to all the important aspects of the Address by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, which he delivered on December 23, 2022. In particular, TASS, RIA Novosti, Ia-CENTR.RU, Nezavisimaya Gazeta, sng.today, MIR-24, Sputnik, Anadolu, Trend and others highlighted the main theses of the Address on their website.
According to TASS, Rahmon stressed that currently, 98% of electricity in Tajikistan is generated in hydropower plants, and our country ranks sixth in the world in terms of «green energy.»
“The complicated situation of the current world urges us to accelerate the renovation and equipment of the Armed Forces, enhance combat readiness and defense capacity building of the country,” RIA Novosti quotes the President of Tajikistan
Information and Analytical Center of Lomonosov Moscow State University, on its website Ia-CENTR.RU singled out the most important, in their opinion, moments from the annual Address of the President of Tajikistan.
The materials of this website note that on December 23, President Rahmon, during the traditional Address, drew attention to the socio-economic successes of the past five years, including:
- The population’s income increased from 41.1 billion somoni ($4 billion) to 87 billion ($8 billion);
- The poverty rate reduced from 27.4 percent to 22.5 percent
- Over 900,000 new jobs created, including 190,000 in 2022;
- Constructed and put into operation 842 buildings for educational institutions;
- The fiscal revenues of the budget increased by 38% and reached 33 billion somoni ($3.23 billion).
“Tajikistan supports the resolution of international issues and regional conflicts through dialogue and is interested in the strengthening the central role of the United Nations in this process. This was stated by President Rahmon in his Address to the Parliament on December 23, 2022 in Dushanbe,” Turkiye news agency Anadolu wrotes.
“30 technological parks and new industrial zones will be built in Tajikistan. The term is three years. This instruction was given by the President Rahmon during his Address to the country’s parliament. He also instructed the government, the Ministry of Defense and other military structures to develop the concept of national defense,” the MIR 24 reports.
Sputnik Tajikistan has collected the most fundamental points of the Address of the President Rahmon.
Especially much in the Address, according to Sputnik, was devoted to the economic agenda. During the Address, the head of state stressed that “inflation in the consumer sector of Tajikistan amounted to 4.2%, and this is the best indicator in the CIS.”
On December 23, the website of the CIS Executive Committee, with reference to Khovar, published the full text of the Address of the President of Tajikistan “On Major Dimensions of Tajikistan’s Foreign and Domestic Policy.”
