About 1 Million Tourists Visit Tajikistan in 2022

DUSHANBE, 10.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – In 2022, 999,300 foreign tourists visited Tajikistan, which is 3.4 times, or 703,000 tourists more than in 2021. This was noted today during a press conference of the Committee for Tourism Development.
It was reported that with the support of the government and international financial institutions, 4 investment projects are being implemented to develop the tourism sector in Tajikistan.
242 travel companies operate in Tajikistan, including 50 in GBAO, 43 in Sughd region, 19 in Khatlon region, 112 in Dushanbe, and 18 companies in cities and districts of republican subordination.
In 2022, 100 tourist infrastructure facilities were built to serve domestic and foreign guests and tourists at an optimal level, as well as over the past 5 years, 600 tourist infrastructure facilities were put into operation.
