Republican Contest “Tajiks — a Mirror of the Nation’s History” Will Begin This Month

DUSHANBE, 02.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – In February, the first round of the Republican contest “Tajiks — a Mirror of the Nation’s History” will begin in educational institutions, organizations and departments of self-government bodies of towns and villages of the country.
The contest is held in honor of the 115th anniversary of the birth of Bobojon Gafurov at the instruction and under the auspices of the President of Tajikistan in four rounds from February to December 2023.
All residents, including students of institutions of general and primary vocational education and students of institutions of secondary and higher vocational education, students of institutions after secondary vocational education, graduate students, applicants and doctoral students, teaching staff, teachers of all levels of education , workers of culture and art, representatives of various professions (with the exception of history teachers of all levels of education, scientists and researchers in the field of history), doctors of science (traditional), full members of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and industry academies, can take part in the contest.
The historical knowledge of the contestants is determined by reading the work of Bobojon Gafurov «Tajiks» and other historical sources, including knowledge of detailed information about the book by Bobodjon Gafurov «Tajiks» and its author, the ability to tell and comment on historical events of certain periods, express important points of work, abilities leading, oratory, substantiation of historical events and their status in the history of the Tajik people, knowledge of important historical dates, historical periods and historical figures of the Tajik people, historical and cultural heritage of the Tajik people, historical monuments, historical sites that represent the ancient history of the Tajik nation, historical sources and scientific and artistic works on the history of the ancient Tajik nation.
The contest’s first round will be held in February in educational institutions, organizations and departments of self-government bodies of towns and villages, the second — in June in the centers of cities and districts (with the exception of Dushanbe), the third — in the second half of September in the centers of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Sughd and Khatlon regions, Dushanbe, cities and districts of republican subordination, the fourth — in the first half of December for the winners of the first, second and third places in the National Library of Tajikistan.
The contest covers the history of the Tajik people from antiquity to the period of independence. Its participants are classified in the following order: students of secondary educational institutions (grades 5-11) and primary vocational education (grades 9-11), students of secondary and higher professional educational institutions (bachelors, masters), teachers of all levels of education, scientific and literary figures of scientific, creative, cultural and artistic institutions, graduate students, applicants, candidates of science and doctoral students of higher professional educational institutions and scientific institutions (with the exception of teachers of history at all levels of education, doctors of science), members of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and branch academies, representatives of different professions.
