Tajik Judokas Will Go to Qatar for the 2023 World Championships

DUSHANBE, 17.04.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik judokas will take part in the 2023 World Judo Championships, which will be held from May 7 through May 14 in Doha.
According to the regulations, athletes who are in the top 100 of the world ranking by April 3, can participate in the championship.
The team of Tajikistan will include Emomali Nurali (-66kg), Shahboz Saidabrorov (-66kg), Behruz Khojazoda (-73kg), Shodmon Rizoev (-81kg), Somon Mahmadbekov (-81kg), Komronshoh Ustopiriyon (-90kg), Jahongir Majidov (-90kg), Abubakri Akobir (-100kg) and Temur Rahimov (+100kg).
The tournament will be held as part of the Judo World Tour. The winners and prize-winners of the championship will be awarded valuable cash prizes. The prize fund of the championship is €1 million. In individual competitions, winners in all 14 weight categories will be awarded €26,000 each, silver medalists — €15,000 each, bronze medalists — €8,000 each. In the team competition, €90,000 are provided for first place, €60,000 for second place and €25,000 for third place.
Athletes also receive points for improving their position in the world and Olympic rankings. Including winners receive 2000 points, second place holders — 1400 points, third place holders — 1000 points and thus 20 points for participation.
