Tajik U-17 Football Team Wins Bronze Medals of the U-20 2023 CAFA Championship

DUSHANBE, 29.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The fourth championship of the U-20 Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) has ended in Tajikistan. As a result of the tournament, Tajik U-17 football team won the bronze medals.
In the final round, Tajik team lost to Iran with a score of 1-2.
In another match of the fourth round, Uzbekistan beat Afghanistan with a score of 4-0.
Thus, Uzbekistan became the winner of the 2023 CAFA Championship, which scored 10 points in four matches played. Silver medals went to the Iranian team, which has 9 points. Tajikistan with 5 points took third place.
Vice President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Dilshod Jurazoda and Secretary General of the Central Asian Football Association Ulugbek Karimov took part in the awards ceremony.
Following the results, the Fair Play prize was awarded to Afghanistan, as well as the special prize went to Turkmenistan. The top scorer prize was awarded to Iranian national team player Reza Mirzayan, who scored six goals. The most useful player was named the captain of Uzbekistan Muhammadali Urinboev.
