Population Affected by Natural Disasters in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region Receive Aid

DUSHANBE, 30.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The population affected by natural disasters in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region was provided with aid in the form of food, including flour, vegetable oil, rice, sugar, pasta, and peas.
On June 29, the Republican Commission for the Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters held meeting in the Roshtkala district.
The GBAO Chairman briefed the meeting participants on the situation caused by the natural disaster (mudflows) that occurred from June 24 through June 28 in the village of Midenved of the rural community of Barvoz in Roshtkala district, as a result of which residential buildings and household facilities were damaged.
There are no casualties as a result of the natural disaster. The regional and district commissions for emergency situations are already working on the spot, work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster, and the damage is being determined.
Per President’s instructions, on June 28, an Interdepartmental Working Group was sent to the disaster area to study the situation.
The established Republican Commission for the Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters began its work in the Roshtkala district.
