DUSHANBE, 02.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 2, 2023, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.

The heads of state discussed the state and prospects of relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in the political, commercial, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other sectors and exchanged views on important regional and international issues.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the issue of delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, expressed their satisfaction with the final results of the agreement on the project line of the state border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with a length of about 626 kilometers, 102 kilometers of which were delineated in the last 1.5 years. At the same time, they supported the successful efforts to continue negotiations and make relevant decisions based on mutual respect and trust.

The heads of state once again confirmed the importance of maintaining friendship and good co-existence between the two countries and expressed their support for resolving all existing issues only through political and diplomatic means.
