Tajik Athlete Sherov Wins the Gold Medal at the Russian Judo Tour — Chelyabinsk — 2023

DUSHANBE, 26.06.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – A member of the Tajik judo team Abubakr Sherov won a gold medal at the international judo tournament “Russian judo tour — Chelyabinsk — 2023.”
In weight -73kg he defeated Daniil Toshev (Moscow), Shamil Umaev (Tyumen), Magzhan Alzhanov (Kazakhstan), Buyan-Kherel Sanaa (Tyumen), and Shamil Zulfikarov (Tyumen). In the final, Sherov defeated Dmitry Korpukhin from Sverdlovsk and took first place.
In weight -66kg Suhrob Bokiev, after two victories over Mikhail Nelyubin (Chelyabinsk) and Aldiyar Ereshov (Kazakhstan), was defeated in the quarterfinals after a fight with Ivan Chernykh (St. Petersburg) and in a repechage fight against an athlete from Armenia Yeghiazar Karapetyan.
Hakdod Gulov lost to Kim Hayrapetyan (Sverdlovsk) in the first round.
The tournament was attended by 517 athletes from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, China, Armenia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, United Arab Emirates, Belarus, Serbia, Greece, Israel, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Comoros and Sudan.
The winners and prize-winners were awarded prizes along with a medal. The total prize fund amounted to 7.3 million Russian rubles.
