Tajikistan’s Historical and Cultural Monuments Will Be Included in the Main UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in September

DUSHANBE, 28.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) — Historical and cultural monuments of the Zarafshon–Kayrokkum corridor in 9 nominations will be included in the main UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list during the next UNESCO meeting in Saudi Arabia in September this year. This was reported at a press conference on July 26.
Also, by the end of the year, the works on the nomination of the Fargona–Syrdaryo corridor will be fully completed and sent for inclusion in the preliminary list of World Cultural Heritage.
Currently, the Ministry of Culture has intensified work towards the introduction of historical and cultural monuments in this list. A lot of work is being done in this direction.
In addition, the Ministry’s specialists, in cooperation with international experts, are currently working at a high level to promote the nomination Hulbuk — Ancient Huttal.
Constant work is being carried out to expand cultural cooperation with foreign countries.
