DUSHANBE, 21.08.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, as part of an official visit to China, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali met with the Mayor of Beijing Yin Yong.

The parties stressed that constant attention is paid to the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations that meet the goals and principles of strategic partnership.

It was expressed interest in expanding cooperation at the level of capitals in areas of mutual interest.

Chairman of Dushanbe emphasized that today Beijing with its architectural masterpieces, works of art and historical monuments attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world. Modern Beijing with a developed infrastructure as a political, educational and cultural center of China has become the center of various world cultural and public events.

The parties exchanged views on expanding trade and economic cooperation, attracting investment in manufacturing sectors and developing tourism, strengthening ties in the fields of education, science, technology and healthcare.

Dushanbe, as a twin city of Urumqi, Xiamen, Qingdao, Hainan Province and a partner of Chengdu, is doing significant work to strengthen relations and good neighborliness between Tajikistan and China.

It was also expressed confidence that further strengthening of cooperation with Beijing will give impetus to further expand relations between the capitals, expand and strengthen economic and cultural ties.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation was signed between Dushanbe and Beijing.
